Harris County Treasurer Faces Burglary Charge
Dec, 31 2025
Wyatt, a member of the Democratic Party, was elected to her position in November 2022. Attempts to reach her for comment were unsuccessful, as a staff member at her office ended a call with a reporter after the purpose was disclosed. A defense attorney who had previously represented her in a driving while intoxicated (DWI) case stated he had not been contacted regarding the current burglary charge.
In December 2023, Wyatt faced a DWI charge after allegedly registering a blood-alcohol concentration of at least 0.15%, which is nearly double the legal limit in Texas. The case included reports of bond violations, including one for failing to install an ignition interlock device and another for exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit. The DWI charge was ultimately dismissed in August 2025 after she completed a pretrial diversion program.
