The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has commenced a national recruitment campaign titled Defend the Homeland, with the objective of hiring thousands of new agents and officers by the end of the year. The campaign includes a video advertisement that references the agency's establishment in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans. The advertisement asserts that ICE represents a unified effort in immigration, counterterrorism, and homeland security.

The video further highlights current enforcement outcomes, claiming a reduction in crime and gang violence, as well as a decrease in fentanyl-related deaths to a five-year low. It concludes with a call for individuals to apply for positions within ICE, directing potential applicants to join.ice.gov.

An ICE spokesperson reported to Breitbart News that the campaign has garnered considerable interest, with over 200,000 applications received. The agency aims to hire 10,000 new officers and agents before the New Year.
