On Sunday, a robbery at Heathrow Airport led to the pepper-spraying of 21 individuals, including a 3-year-old child, necessitating medical treatment. The incident occurred in a parking garage when a group of four men stole a woman's suitcase from an elevator and sprayed an irritant, believed to be pepper spray, in her direction, according to the Metropolitan Police. Commander Peter Stevens stated that the suspects fled the scene after the robbery. Witnesses described the suspects as three young men dressed in black with their heads covered.

In response to the incident, armed police officers quickly arrived at the scene, navigating the multi-story parking garage. Authorities indicated that the victim and the suspects were known to each other, and the case is not being treated as terrorism-related. Stevens noted that the situation escalated from an argument among individuals who were acquainted.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, while police continue to search for the other suspects who escaped. Emergency services treated victims on-site and transported five individuals to the hospital, with their injuries reported as non-life-threatening. The incident caused significant travel delays for passengers at the airport, although operations have since returned to normal.
